Falken Ziex ZE-512 vs Kumho Ecsta ASX

What would be your recommendation ? Price wise they are very close. I do have set of winter tires so I'm not worried about snow. The size is 195/55/15 if it matters.  :)

I have the ZE-512 on my Mercedes, used as a summer-only tire.  For the money, it's tough to beat.  It's not luxury car quiet, but not bad at all.  It's very good in the wet and offers pretty stable cornering in dry conditions and the tires give decent warning as they get near their limits.

I would buy them again.

Well if you want wet performance go with the Falken. If you want longevity I would go with the Kumho ASX.

I have the Ziex 512 and agree with the wet weather ability of the tire...

My Falken ZE-512 gives me awesome all-weather* grip, and for the most part, the tires are very quiet. My only gripe is that the tread wear on these guys are not the greatest. Falken only guarantees them for 50,000km, and given my first 7000km with the tires, I am not sure whether they will make it that far. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who is looking for some performance all-season tires.

I have no experience with the Kumho Ecsta ASX, so I can't comment on it.

*[edit] I should mention that I have yet to try them in the snow. However, dry and wet traction has always been superb.

I ended up buying BF Goodrich Traction T/A :-)  A little bit more expensive but based on reviews they should have better tread life without sacrificing handling and etc. Most comments about Falken were positive except tread life :-(
