Great review as per always. I cannot believe how popular these, and its Wagoneer bigger brother, are around here. It seems that all the soccer moms traded their X5s and Mercedes things in for these things. They're a really nice rig, I can't really blame people for liking them.

I agree, you’re reviews are excellent!

The Grand Wagoneer is a very rare sight here in the Okanagan (save for the many I see loitering on the Jeep dealership lot) and even the smaller Grand isn’t very common. And everyone here is big dollar SUV crazy, can’t go far without seeing new Escalades/Denali, Range Rovers, BMW’s, etc.

Think Jeep has priced themselves out of their own market.

Despite having two Jeep dealers with 30 km, I have not seen either a Wagonner or a Grand Wagonner on the road.  The beater version of the Wagoneer is $90K plus tax and the beater Grand is $110K plus HST and LUXURY tax.   LOL!

Lots on the road here, and a bunch on the lots.  Of course, this is Yukon/Suburban territory, so folks are accustomed to paying nearly six figures for family haulers.

There are two Wagoneers in my 'hood, one Grand that replaced the lone Yukon Denali in town, one "base". Both look like garden sheds on wheels. The GM's look good, at least, and drive pretty well since the IRS move. The recent Expedition I've only seen in pictures.

LOL You have never driven multilane highways in Alberta in the summer? We just got back from Baja (35 hours each way) pulling a trailer and you sure don't want to drive that at 90 km/h  :rofl2:   Interstate minimum is 65 MPH or you will be run over by transports.   OK the big question is can the ICE handle the 6000lb towing capacity safely? Lets say 90 km/h  ;) through Colorado?

We just got back from Baja

As in Baja California, Mexico?   Impressive.  Hat's off.

Yeah, wth....lets hear about this, not some Jeep with a airdrier under the hood.

A 134 hp, 195 lb-ft hairdryer  ;D - and one that helped with my 102 mpg score for the week!

We go almost every year to do some poking around on the bikes.

That's the one advantage that Alberta has location wise; access to the north south Utah corridor.  Never gets old I will assume.

Yeah it's our version of Florida I guess. 28 hours gets you into Mexico.  It is getting old though, really whooped and sandy where they run the big stuff. Need to start looking for off the track options but would feel more comfortable with a guide.

Will be interesting if they start selling now, that's a lot of vehicle for the price of a Hornet

Crazy eh? And maybe parked beside each other on the lot, maybe with a leftover 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe sitting there too :D

Complicated situation for buyers and (no doubt) salesmen until Stellantis makes more sense of this pricing

The base one appears to exist strictly in order to advertise a (relatively) low price point, and to be eligible for government rebates. There's zero options available and the higher trims cost a ton more.

Sort of like the RWD BMW 330e when it was priced at $44,900. Which no one bought.

There no trims, just two very expensive packages - I haven't tried the build & price yet to see what you can add to the 4xe. A neighbour has a base one, a '23 - probably pissed!

They are effectively trims. Choose the base one and you can pick one of five colours. There are no other options.

Sure plenty of rumbling out there regarding Stellantis dealerships in major trouble. Terribly overstocked and literally nothing is selling. The Hornet has more than a 600 day supply alone. The refresh Rams have significant price increases. And the entire Jeep lineup has a 30% sales decline.

These are value brands that tend to sell to subprime buyers. This high atp strategy clearly isn’t working. They need to dust off the Journey, offer a CVP bare bones Pacifica, and cut the prices of everything else.

Amen. Compass, Hornet are imported from Italy, so that doesn't help pricing.

Yet they made tons of money last year somehow:

I guess if the cost of all that unsold inventory is actually fronted by the dealers bank then everything is good until interest piles up too high or the bank calls the loan

I played with the configurator a bit. A base $59,995 4xe is white, the four other colours are extra and indeed, no options.

The Altitude pkg includes just this for $15,600:

Automatic high-beam headlamp control
Capri leatherette seats
Door trim panel w/Vinyl armrest
Gloss Black exterior accents
LED fog lamps
Second-row heated seats
Universal garage door opener
Variable intermittent windshield wipers

... and some of that is already in the base model! But it allows you to add even more options, like tech, rear screens, pano roof etc. - all at extra cost.

The Anniversary Edition pkg, $18,400, adds this:

2 front tow hooks
Auto-dimming digital display rearview mirror
Anniversary Edition
Auto-dimming exterior driver mirror
Automatic high-beam headlamp control
Blue tow hooks
Bright dual exhaust tips
Capri leatherette seats with perforated inserts
Door trim panel w/Vinyl armrest
Front ventilated seats
Passive entry - front doors, rear doors & liftgate
Gloss Black exterior accents
Integrated Off-road camera
Intersection collision assist system
LED fog lamps
Memory steering column
Painted door cladding
Painted lower front fascia
Painted lower rear fascia
Painted Rocker panel cladding - lower
Painted wheel flares
Park-Sense® Front and Rear Park Assist with stop
Power tilt/telescope steering column
Rear back-up camera washer
Second-row heated seats
Second-row manual window shades
Surround View Camera System
Universal garage door opener
Upper front fascia
Upper Grille Texture-B
Wireless charging pad

Basically, stick with the base 4xe and forget about any options for the budget to make sense. The base already has 9-speaker audio, heated steering / front seats & rear seats, ventilated front seats, all driver aids except hands free, smart key, remote start, pano roof and the "Luxury tech Group II", unless they revised content from this 2024 e-brochure:

Compass is made in Mexico. Renegade comes from Italy.
Enjoying the Alberta advantage

Compass is produced in many plants around the world, and NA inventory comes from Italy and indeed Mexico. The Mexican ones are probably much cheaper to build and ship here, but they can't really have different pricing vs the Italians.
