Leaving a fleet parking with a new MINI I of course stall the thing being "green" with the friction point, but then just pushing in the clutch restarted the engine - not a bad idea with a stick.
Subaru's stop/start is horrendous, the whole car shakes if it starts when you have your foot deep on the brake.
This week's gas-fed Soul has one too, but you barely feel it - YMMV!
At the end of the day, I don't mind start/stop in regular driving, and you can re-start the engine seconds before the green by just reducing the pressure on the brake pedal. But in stop and go traffic, I turn it off.
Hybrids have a much smoother stop/start because of the electric motor, and EV's really nail it of course
