Just read a fun fact:

In 2020, the Camry outsold the entire Lexus range in the US. The car ain't dead  :)

Wow...a lot of boring people in the US. What was the most popular color, "champagne" or white  ;D Of course I'm kidding, buying a Camry is no more/less boring than some bulbous CUV white appliance good thing.
Lighten up Francis.....

I'm not surprised the cheap car outsold the expensive car.

Same reason he's looking at a Camry vs the ES.

The entire range - includes all the Lexus SUV's - pricing is a factor, but still - impressive numbers.

It's something how the Camry and Accord have the mid size sedan market basically to themselves now

I bet the US still have healthy demand for V6 Camrys, maybe around 20%?

Only 6% of US sales, 2% being the TRD model and the rest a mix of XSE and XLE.

Thanks for looking it up. In the past few years I test drove a couple of used ES with a V6 (port injected) and what a marvelous engine that is. Silky smooth, quiet with a lot of pull on demand and linear acceleration. What is your take on the modern D4-S V6 version?

Again...not shocking in the least. To me, anyways.

Honestly, I've only had Toyota sixes in Siennas 5+ years ago and recently in the 4Runner and Tacoma. Last Sienna I drove in a comparo (2015?) had the latest-gen V6, felt stronger than my Odyssey's mill, that's the extent of what I remember. I need to drive an ES.

Sienna:
Quote
2.7 L 1AR-FE I4 (gasoline, MY2011–2012)
3.5 L 2GR-FE V6 (gasoline, MY2011–2016)
3.5 L 2GR-FKS V6 (gasoline, MY2017–2020)

So that would have been the same engine as in the ES I drove. MY 2017 added direct injection. So yes, please put a V6 ES on your list  ;)

Looks like we have the last version in on our 2017 RX. Smooth, quiet, plenty of power

The 4.7 V8 I had in the previous gen Tundra though, that is an engine. Seemed to love to rev in a way this V6 doesn't really do
