My shop stores tires for customers, all barcoded in the basement. We charge $99/season for the storage. MANY customers take us up on the service, makes swapping out tire sets a breeze. I store mine here too, we use cardboard and foam in between the rims when asked, and hardware is always kept with the rims (locks, aftermarket lugs, etc.). Such services are worth it in convenience for many.

Currently I have my tire racks mounted high in the garage so I at 6'2" can walk under them. I devised a pulley system that I have not used to get tires up and down (work smarter not harder) but typically I use the bed of my truck as a platform and lift them into the racks. A 20" Land Rover wheel/tire is a good clean and jerk..
This has nothing to do with age. Some people are just stronger and love doing this. While others can't be bothered, have no space, or any interest in lifting/moving tires around.Nothing wrong with either. Do what makes you happy.

I'm 70 play hockey 3 times a week and go to the gym 3 times a week... as you get older fun things like changing tires, cutting grass are not that interesting anymore and you have more disposable income to hire people to do it for you, while you do other more fun things 😉

Once you stop doing you start withering.
