Well, this story is done but at least I  think I put to rest the idea that a 15+ years old car might be an option for what I want, despite my soft spot for the E46.

I will redirect my search to find a good 2011 E90 but will start a new thread on that. I have no rush so I can wait until the right car comes along....

Theres a nice one I posted earlier in this thread ;) Looks more legit.

Yes, I looked at that and thank you. That indeed is the kind of vehicle I'm looking for. The saddle brown interior is something I absolutely love and WANT....

I'm particular about color (no black or silver), package (no screen/navi), interior trim (aluminum), price (under $10K ideally)..... Will post my criteria in the new thread, but yes, that's the kind of car I want.

Rust free example should be #1 priority.

Should be able to find a good E90 in your price range. Bella got hers for $9,500 a few years back... its only a 323i, but its a 2011 RWD 6spd at least.

That's good... and few years back when it was newer.... At the moment, there are only 2 2011 Manual within 250 km from GTA. Not too much choice. I guess I have to be patient and luckily I have no pressure....

I wouldn't mind the lower HP but AWD is a must-have and I don't think it was available on 323i. I want the most de-contented 328i xDrive Manual with leather I can get in terms of features.

Well, that was different then expected.

Looking back I guess the photos being 'staged' outside someone else's property was a bit of a giveaway.

Nicely written ad though

The line about being driven by "an executive at Labatt" sent up red flags for me. Like the owner would say that about himself. And then the shady line at the end about some scheme to save on taxes.

Yeah, I was puzzled about that too, but whatever .... People have their own ways sometimes....
