Works well for swapping into mid-engine cars too.  :)

So, it's FWD but with a longitudinal engine?

Yep. Aren’t Audis like that too? Seems a little overly complicated but if it works...
It has been a criticism of those Audis that the engines weight has been forward of the front axle and affecting the handling.

I never noticed but then I never took either the A4 nor the Q5 to a track of any sort.

I've taken several to the track, yeah you  can feel the mass up front, but they still handled well.   I remember my Coupe GT being listed in Road & Track one year as the best handling FWD vehicle.

Renault often used longitudinal engines in FWD cars, such as the R12.

I really liked the Vigor. Right sized package that drove better than most FWD cars. Almost bought one.

I had a '89 Legend for few years.... 2.7L V6 ... it was a nice car, well built. It felt very light and peppy; the steering was very light too.

For about 2 years I drove it (wife's car at the time before we got married), it was pretty reliable. I put some money in it for wear and tear items and some body damage the wife inflicted on it. Had some water leaking in the trunk sometimes, the glove box latch was broken, the retractable antennae was broken, the driver window needed some manual help and guidance going up and down, but other than that was OK. I liked that car overall...

Underbody rust was the main issue with it. The rocker panels were shot both sides when I sold it (as-is). The engine was still going strong... sold it in 2005 at 16 years old.
