The hybrid has the hood pad, and it is a fair bit quieter. Then again, the engine does not have to work as hard of the line either as the electric kicks in off the bat
i think that's likely due to the electric assistance...while the pad may provide some sound insulation, it's only going to insulate the other side of the hood, which isn't in the interior of the vehicle...it may be a bit quieter outside though (standing beside it, for example).

That’s what surprised me...I read things like ‘short supply’ online, turn around and Toyota already sold some as rental units?! Hmmmmmmm

Much ridiculous speculation.  Which rental company?  Who ownes it; independent under a national name?   Lots of LEs for sale.  Strikes me a good vehicle to purchase for a rental operator which would be purchased from a local Toyota dealer not Toyota Canada.  Easy vehicle to resell.

And they are.... hybrid came out much later in production and they're way behind.

No shortage in April in Ontario when gas was a buck.  Now that it's a buck and a quarter there are slim pickins.  Canada has an allotment and that's the way it is.  The ecvt come from Japan so it's planned production.

The long wait might be because you want to wait for your own color and options.  If your willing to choose from stock i bet you can drive one away

Hmmm. I sat in one too and found the front seats a little wider than the ones in the previous gen Rav. My personal beef is the absence of 4-way lumbar support, not even in the Limited. On the plus side i read a rumour somewhere that the 2020 models will add android integration.
