Need advice on cost of repair
« on: December 17, 2018, 03:59:06 pm »
Someone in a parking lot backed into my car with their truck twice and I'm looking for anyone who knows roughly how much it will cost to fix. I live in a small town with one garage and they tend to over charge. I've attached pictures of the damage. Theres also damage done to the latch for the hood. Thank you in advance for anyone that can help give an idea of how much it should cost

I'd say your best bet is to replace the hood with one from a wrecking yard, preferably in the correct factory colour.

I would be guessing at cost, maybe $500-$1200, depending in if painting is needed.

That REALLY sucks... I feel for you, OP.
Did you catch the perp or do you have to pay for it out of your pocket?

Thankfully I was in the car when it happened, I was actually backing out of a spot and she was parked beside me and didn't notice that I was there and started backing up. Her tail gate was down and it came right up on top of my car. She was very nice about the whole thing and she said she's going to pay for the repairs. She's kept in contact throughout the week while I was waiting for an appointment because she said she she didn't want me to be stressed. I'm very lucky, the way it happened and the area we were in, she could have easily driven away especially since I couldn't see her plate with the tailgate down. Anyway I had the appointment for an estimate today and its 1194.83$ so thank you for rhrhe first reply, I had prepared to hear 1200$ and it wasn't a shock when I heard it.

best of luck. sounds like they aren't jacking up the price too much. accidents happen, and glad to see people hold themselves accountable.
