Have to say that the Beetle has had some of the best rims that VW makes by far.  Love the classic design of this vehicle.  If I'm not mistaken it's still riding on the MK6 Golf structure and not the new MQB platform.  I'm not a fan of the new 2.0T engine and it's crappy power delivery.  It's also a bit disappointing that they no longer offer a manual transmission in any of the Beetles but I guess the type of buyer for this car is not the type that buys a manual.

It'll be a bit sad that VW won't be offering this in their lineup.  Having a couple of boring sedans and SUV's seems like where VW is heading.  Even their regular Golf is getting watered down with the smaller 1.4T engine.

Volkswagen really missed an opportunity to have a four door Beetle. That could have been a much more sustainable product.

while i'd never get one of these, i have to say that the $25k Wolfsburg edition coming not only looks good, it seems to offer pretty good value for the dollar...turbo engine, 6 speed auto, leather, ACP/AA, NAV, and great looks for $25k...that's actually a pretty good deal.
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

Leather only with the $1750 style package, but I agree, it's a good value.

For $24,475, the Beetle Wolfsburg Edition’s drivetrain remains true to what was found under the hood the year before, which means 174 horsepower from a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a touchscreen infotainment system are standard, as is navigation, automatic climate control, heated seats, and leather trim throughout the cabin.

CarCostCanada shows cloth seats as being standard: https://carcostcanada.com/Canada/Options/2019-Volkswagen-Beetle-Wolfsburg_Edition_Auto/402203

The Style Package gives you three leather choices in addition to 18" wheels and better lighting.

hmm...if true, the article is incorrect then...that said, it makes the price about $26,700, which still isn't too bad...i still liked the $25k price better though.  :)
