When Hyundai launched the new Santa Fe, there were a few (including myself) that were surprised that they ditched V6 power in their offerings. But as a sign of the times – I guess it made sense.
But have no fear lovers of torque and power, the 2013 Santa Fe XL offers V6 power in the form of a 3.3L Gasoline Direct Injection V6 with 290 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque.

Of course to get the 3.3L you will have to drive a larger Santa Fe XL that seats six or seven and is 215 mm longer and 5 mm wider than the regular Santa Fe.
The XL also tows 678 kg more than the 2.0L turbo at 2,268 kg (5,000 lb) total. You also get a larger price tag with the XL, which still starts at a reasonable $29,999 for the undesirable front-wheel-drive model. My tester, an AWD Luxury edition, tops out close to $45,000 after Delivery charges.
But you do get a lot of stuff standard as is… standard with Hyundai. The Limited model specifically adds the following to an already well equipped vehicle: HID Headlights, memory driver’s seat, ventilated seats, second row captain’s chairs, LED taillights, 19-inch alloys, proximity key with push-button start, Infinity Premium sound system, navigation and more.
MSRP as tested (including destination and fees): $44,788.70
