Ottawa, ON. – Transport Canada has released its latest recalls, which may affect some Fisker, Ford and Lamborghini models.

Fisker

Units Affected 86

On certain vehicles, the low temperature cooling fans may have been manufactured incorrectly and could develop a short circuit. An electrical short could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace both low temperature cooling fans with a single improved unit.

Ford

Units Affected 346

Edge: 2012

On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine, the fuel line pulse damper may have been installed incorrectly and could develop cracks. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel line assembly.

Ford

Units Affected 1,661

Escape: 2013

On certain vehicles equipped with a 1.6L engine, the cylinder head cup plug (freeze plug) may become dislodged, resulting in a significant loss of coolant which could cause the engine to overheat. Under certain circumstances, water in the remaining coolant mixture may vaporize, resulting in a higher concentration of glycol (antifreeze). A high concentration of glycol could become flammable and, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the cylinder head. If the cup plug is dislodged or leaking, the cylinder head assembly will be replaced. If the cup plug is not dislodged or leaking, a wicking sealant will be applied to the plug and a cover plate will be installed over the plug with adhesive.

Lamborghini

Units Affected 96

Gallardo: 2004, 2005, 2006
Gallardo Spyder: 2004, 2005, 2006

On certain vehicles, the power steering high pressure line may develop a leak. Loss of steering fluid could cause a loss of steering power assist, which may result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Also, power steering fluid leakage may contact a hot engine or exhaust component, which could result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the power steering high pressure line.
