Ottawa, ON. – Transport Canada has released its latest recalls, which may affect some Chevrolet, Dodge, GMC and Mercedes-Benz models.
Mercedes-Benz
Units Affected – 8
G-Class: 2011
On certain units, a molding strip located in the dashboard may have been improperly spot welded to the passenger airbag covering flap. In the event of an airbag deployment, the molding strip could become loose and enter the passenger compartment or impair proper airbag function. This could increase the risk of personal injury in a crash. Correction: Dealers will reinforce the connection between the airbag flap and the molding strip.
Dodge
Units Affected – 130
Durango: 2013
On certain Dodge Durango vehicles with 3 row, 7 passenger seating, an incorrect Occupant Restraint Control (ORC) module may have been installed during vehicle assembly. As a result, third row seat occupants may not benefit from the added protection provided by the lateral airbags during a crash (where lateral airbag deployment is warranted), which could increase the risk of personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the ORC module.
Chevrolet / GMC
Units Affected – 926
Express/Savana: 2003, 2004
On certain vehicles equipped with a left side cargo door, and originally sold in or currently operated in areas of heavy road salt usage during winter months (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador), the fuel filler pipe could corrode and become perforated. This could allow fuel to leak onto the ground while refuelling the vehicle. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel filler pipe.
