Nissan has finally revealed some details of the gasoline powertrain for the new Titan. Codenamed “Endurance”, it is an all-new 5.6L V8 gasoline engine that will join the Cummins 5.0L turbo diesel V8 as one of the possible choices of powertrains in the XD.

The gas V8, rated at 390 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, is both more powerful and fuel efficient than the previous generation V8 thanks to Nissan’s advanced VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) and direct injection technology. The Endurance will be teamed with an equally new seven-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift control and Downshift Rev matching.

The powertrain will be available as of spring of 2016 and further information will be available by then.
