Kia Bringing Soul-Based Electric AWD Concept To Chicago

Finally, Kia’s cute ute may power all four wheels

Next month at the Chicago Auto Show, even if conditions are less than perfect (and it’s Chicago, so the probability of that is high), Kia will still be showing up with the concept you see above.

Visually, it looks like nothing more than a Soul with fancy wheels. But, Kia states it will “unveil an advanced and capable electric all-wheel drive (e-AWD)” and be aimed at the same urban audience as the Hyundai Santa Cruz Concept revealed in Detroit.

“Intended to enable a wide array of outdoor activities from skiing and snowboarding, to camping, hiking and mountain biking, this rugged runabout captures the essence of adventuring at higher elevations with the promise of surefootedness in the wild,” states the release from Kia.

Conspicuously absent is a view of the rear of the concept, leading us to believe this could be a Soul-based trucklet. We won’t know for sure until next month.
