Yup, blame yourself.

Because you didn’t buy nearly enough 5 Series wagons when they were available in North America, BMW brought out the 5-Series Gran Turismo. And since you bought a bunch of GTs, BMW is going to build a second-generation version of the sloped pseudo-wagon.

It’s all your fault.

According to Auto Motor und Sport, the next GT is set to appear in 2016. Shame on you (and China).

At least it will be lighter — some 100 kg lighter than the outgoing GT — and a plug-in version will have an all-electric range of 30 km. But that still doesn’t make up for the fact that the 5 Series wagon isn’t available in Canada because you people stopped buying them.

Seriously. This is why we can’t have nice things.

(Also, go buy a 3 Series wagon so we don’t lose that, too. You owe it to the greater good.)
