Zen Buddhists spend a lot of time pondering the ephemeral nature of human life, indeed, of all existence. Automotive journalists spend a lot of time pondering the ephemeral nature of tires fitted to cars designed to go fast, indeed, very fast. Of course, unlike Zen Buddhists, automotive journalists don’t get whacked with a bamboo stick if they get distracted during meditation, or when they go on Facebook instead of writing that article that was due two days ago. Ahem. Well, let’s get to the digest, shall we?

This week, OMVIC took the unprecedented step of suspending two dealerships in the Sudbury area, Drivetime and Craig Terry Investments Ltd. Both are owned by Micheline Cooper, who, as it turns out, has not been licensed by OMVIC at all.
If you’re feeling particularly adventurous (and willing to brave the import tariff), you can import the six-speed manual, 6.2L V8-equipped 2015 Chevrolet SS from the states starting next year. Just don’t call it a land yacht.
We’re going to leave it there for news this week because VROOM VROOM.

Michael Bettencourt took a quick spin in the Lamborghini Huracán. Go on. It’s okay. I understand. There’s nothing else that could possibly attract your attention…
HELLCAT. Hellcat Hellcat Hellcat. Or maybe you prefer just the facts?
Phew. Let’s calm down a bit with the eco-friendly stalwart that is the vanilla Toyota Prius.
James Bergeron wrapped up his time in the Subaru WRX STI earlier this week and hopped into a Nissan Micra. Two very different impressions of two very different hatchbacks – oh wait, I’m referring to an alternate universe where the WRX hatchback is a thing. I apologize, and offer up the Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio in penance. And a poll: next-generation Toyota Yaris or Mazda2?
If your preferred qualification in cargo area is “swallows livestock whole”, we’ve got the Cadillac Escalade, Toyota Tacoma, Honda Pilot, and Subaru Outback. (Jacob performed a thorough investigation of the Subaru Starlink infotainment system.)
This week in “things with trunks”: the Chrysler 200S wades into the treacherous mid-size sedan waters and finds a happy niche; while the Audi S4 proves that still waters run deep, with ferocious power lurking under its refined appointments.
Looking to distant horizon, you might find the 2016 Mazda2. If, however, you’re engaged in retrospection, why not consider the Nissan Maxima or Audi TT?

You’re behind the wheel, are you driving or are you travelling? If you picked “driving”, Justin Pritchard walks through the Dos and Don’ts of vehicle tuning and modification. “Travelling”? Peter Bleakney compares the aural experience of luxury vehicles and explains what goes into a high-end car audio system.
You’re behind the wheel, and suddenly you’re twenty feet in the air. If you’re not dreaming, you’re probably the hapless driver depicted in Nissan’s new commercial for the Sentra. Steven Bochenek visited the set and reports on how big-budget television commercials are made.
You’re behind the wheel, and your name is Jacob Black. You’re probably going very fast in a very light vehicle. The Honda Indy Toronto was last weekend, and not only did Jacob realize his childhood dream of driving a Formula racecar, he also got to ride in an IndyCar two-seater going over 230km/h down Lakeshore Boulevard.

An unanswered post from 2008 was resurrected yesterday. While we can’t confirm whether it was divine intervention or black magic, at least one troll was definitely involved.
So, that’s it for another week. If you’re still with us, here’s a little gem from autoTRADER.ca.
