Old and new concepts are on the table for production

Audi seems to be full of options and hasn’t yet made a decision on which Quattro concept to bring to mass production.

Two concepts, the Sport Quattro of Frankfurt 2013 and the Quattro Concept of 2010, are both on the table. The earlier concept is built upon the MQB platform and used the same powertrain as the TT-RS, a 2.5 turbocharged five-cylinder engine. The newest concept goes for halo status, cribbing the 4.0L V8 from the RS6 and mating it with an electric motor, mounted inside the larger MLB platform.

Speaking with AutoExpress UK, Audi’s head of design, Wolfgang Egger said “We have done one (designed for MQB platform) and now we have done the other (on larger MLB platform) so now we need to make a decision.”

Regardless, the new Sport Quattro will drive design of Audis of the future.
