Toyota’s Venza gains a “Redwood Edition” trim package for 2016, and as a result, we fear it may be time for a visit to the optometrist.
In a press release, Toyota’s Canadian VP, Larry Hutchinson, says the Venza Redwood Edition “… adds a beautiful interior with redwood tones and distinctive leather seats.”
The Redwood package is a no-cost option on the XLE AWD trim (which comes with navigation, leather seating, heated front seats, a power tailgate, panoramic glass roof, and anti-theft system), and adds that “redwood” leather and a badge on the tailgate.
A Redwood Edition Venza can be yours for $36,550 (as can the plain XLE). Toyota doesn’t give us trim-specific pricing to use for a 2015-versus-2016 comparison, but prices on base models are up by $335: the basic four-cylinder, FWD model goes for $30,265 this year; a four-cylinder AWD model starts at $32,065, and a V6-AWD Venza stickers at $33,820. Four-cylinder Limited trim costs $39,050, an XLE V6 goes for $38,305, and the top-trim Limited V6 is a $40,805 proposition. Gone for 2016 is the V6-FWD option.
