Montreal, Quebec – The Fiat 500 Abarth will go on sale in Canada at a starting price of $23,995, the company announced at the Montreal International Auto Show.
Faithful to the “small but wicked” saying coined for Karl Abarth’s cars in the 1960s, the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth includes aggressive styling, high power-to-weight ratio and a limited production run.
“Following the very successful launch of the Fiat 500 in Canada in 2011, we are pleased to now introduce the all-new 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth,” said Ed Broadbear, vice-president of marketing for Chrysler Canada. “The Fiat 500 Abarth is perfect for the Canadian enthusiast who wants legendary Italian performance at an attainable price.”
The Fiat 500 Abarth uses an all-new 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo engine with twin intercoolers producing 160 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, plus Abarth-tuned suspension, brakes and dual exhaust, a turbo boost gauge, 16-inch wheels, performance seats, unique front fascias and side skirts, and a liftgate-mounted spoiler. Also standard is Blue&Me hands-free communication and a Bose premium audio system.
