Wow, 6 years plus and all they can be bothered to do is mild cosmetic refresh?  ??? Okay then.

I have a 2015 /w a V6 FWD, love it, but not for the fuel economy

4cyl all wheel drive sucks, NO POWER, vehicle too heavy for that.  Drove a Terrain /w that setup and it was depressing.

my 2¢ any way. (guess it should be a nickle now, no more pennies)

Typical GM fare of letting their models sit too many years with little or no change and then getting crushed by the competition.

I see this Equinox still not coming with dual zone auto AC and why they didn't try to fit the corporate 2.5l is inexcusable.

But the trend is definitely down for both.  The long in the tooth Journey following suit too.  And after they come crying that their vehicles don't sell without heavy incentives, etc.

Always thought these were a handsome rig. But GM has let these run way too long without a redesign, the new model will probably debut at one of the auto shows this winter, then won't roll out till next summer as 2018 models. That'll be 8 years with the current model in the hottest selling segment. Not cool. They did the same thing with the Acadia/Traverse/Enclave, their on year 10 now.  ???

Equinox / Terrain are right-sized for many families, bigger than compacts but smaller than midsizers. Customers are often stopping their analysis right there; that approach also sold a lot of Journeys, and Santa Fe Sport / Sorento. I haven't seen any numbers, but I get the feeling Rav4 sales have fell off a cliff (at least in my area).

Rav still be seller in Canada , I would think their sales would be up with 0% on the hood

Likewise, I've driven a 4cyl FWD terrain and that thing was a floaty tank with no power. I think the only reason to get this car is indeed for that powerful V6 - very rare in this segment. Fuel economy aside, for hauling and highway duties coupled with low resale value, i could see the V6 being a great used buy.

I just don't see an arguement to even consider this rig when looking in this segment.  Does it offer anything compelling?  Personally if I wanted a V6 I would be looking at Kia Sorento, Jeep Cherokee, Mitsubishi Outlander (do they still sell the V6?), and Subaru Outback.

I think with a V6 this would be an interesting choice in the category....with the 4 banger, meh, you could do better.
Lighten up Francis.....

Wow, 6 years plus and all they can be bothered to do is mild cosmetic refresh?  ??? Okay then.

Technically they have had a powertrain update as well.  The Equinox launched with a 3.0L V6 which didn't not go over well with people and they updated it to the 3.6L V6 after a couple of years.  Also I believe the transmission has received an update.

There is a new Equinox and Terrain around the corner.  Will be on the new GM D2 vehicle platform.

Other notes the GM 2.5L engine in transverse format will be dead.   I would guess that the next gen Equinox will have a 1.5 Turbo motor as a base. 2.0 Turbo as the larger engine and a hybrid option (possibly Voltec) similar powertrains to the new Malibu.

Also of note GM's fleet sales are way down.  GM is on a big retail push.

Chiming in here as I also hated the 4cylinder Terrain/Equinox the times I've driven them. It's not just lack of power, it's the buzziness and awfulness with which the little power is delivered. I never really liked the 2.4, but this is one of the worst applications (the later 2.5 in the Malibu was much better).

Ride/handling - well, it didn't really do either in my opinion. Too soft and bouncy/floaty for good ride comfort, and those things don't work for handling.

Found interior incredibly cheap and nasty.

AWD was slow to react.

The fuel economy on the 2.4 is nothing like the official claims. I usually get close (and sometimes beat) the fuel economy numbers, even the old ones before we aligned with the US, but there's no way the Equinox could do 5.9l/100km or whatever it was claiming on the highway.

Positives? Lots of space. Cheapish in lower trims.

if you drove at 80 km/hr , on a straight level road , no headwind , you would get the rated value  ;D
