this and also the Renegade has a serious problems with its pricing structure for Canada, no wonder this model doesn't sell very well.  Since coming into the Canadian market in late May 2015 it only sold 609 units last year.  For comparison, the CX-3 which came out the same month sold 6,891 units and the HR-V which came out a month later sold 8,959 units.

Set your outside mirrors correctly and you really don't need a blind-spot monitoring system - just no fancy lights, but then again nothing can go wrong.

While driving a loaded Dart press car, I was trying to find the button to turn off the heated wheel - it was becoming way too hot, despite being in a winter comparo. No button  ??? Turns out the heated wheel is activated through the touchscreen. Nice ergonomics.

Wing, same situation with the 500X?

$36k is way too much money for this....$7k overpriced IMHO.

Also it appears the list of equipment is not compatible with the price you listed...NAV is optional on the Trek Plus, another $1100 / Technology package is another $995.00 and Blind spot monitoring is $500 - I am assuming the tested model doesn't have the technology package. That means pricing is more like $38,930.00 (source fiatcanada.com)

Thanks.   Yesterday when I looked the configuration tool wasn't working right.   You are correct this is actually $38,430 :(

You guys should only test base models.

That way we won't have to listen to people complaining ... " This (insert whatever brand you don't like here) is way overpriced".

My comment was more in general then just for the Fiat.  You hear it for Mazda, Jeep, Mini, any small car, most CUV's or pickups, anything GM, etc

Some people don't understand options are optional.

In regards to the Fiat X, you have access to company reps I assume.  When you see a pricing irregularity do you ask them the reason for it?

Just curious how they would justify it.

It doesn't have blind spot
$38,430 and it doesn't have blind spot monitoring?

sorry No-san, but i have to say it...that's more than our Sorento, which has more room, a more powerful engine, a longer warranty, a better reliability record.

FWIW, it seems the 84 month payment on this thing is $585.34 all in, a whopping $92.26/month more than the Sorento EX  Turbo AWD (or a total of $7749.84)...you've got to REALLY like the style of this vehicle to choose it over the numerous other choices available out there, many of which will be better equipped, better built and better priced.
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

Your absolutely right:

Lowest price AWD (not including freight or fees)
500x - $30,690
HR-V - $24,290
CX-3 - $22,695

Fiat is "out to lunch" on this 500x on their configuration and pricing structure, almost like they have no idea what the competition is charging.  Also they have the worst reliability record in the industry on top of that.  I can see this going the way of the 500L, unless some serious changes in its Build price are performed.

^^^ looking at their price strategy almost makes me think they are trying to compete with the Mini Countryman.

$38k is a lot of money for this...an Audi Q3 similarly equipped would net $41k!!!

The Germans have a couple sayings for Fiat........example.....

Fehler In Allen Teile  :)

I see these only as rentals, just like the original 500 in Europe. Big surprise there.
