Did I read that right...If you have Volvo replace something on your car and it breaks, they'll replace it?

How often does that actually happen? I don't know if I can ever remember a replacement part on one of my vehicles failing...beyond normal wear items that is. Plus all the mfrs have a warranty on OEM parts anyhow.

I think most manufacturers offer a 12 month warranty on parts and labour...

I applies to parts installed by a Volvo service dept. It may be a part installed on a 1980 240. No it's not transferable...

Reminds me of a story I saw once about an old lady with a 1950s Chevy or something, she had bought "lifetime replacement" parts from Sears back in the day, brakes I think, and had gotten new sets of brakes for decades by keeping the receipt in good shape.

I was one of the TDi owners complaining over in the VW recall/emissions thread (wife drives a 2012 Golf Wagon). My S60's extended warranty will be up in a year, could be a good car to drive into the ground knowing that repairs have a lifetime warranty.

No one keeps their modern Volvo past the lease period do they? Now with the 1800...What if they don't have the parts no more? Baby needs shocks.

this...not that it isn't a good program, but the actual "cost" or "value" is likely not nearly as big as it may seem at first...in short, this is a very good marketing ploy, with minimal cost/risk to Volvo, but plenty of upside for peace of mind from their customers.

exactly...when you think about it, how many times have you fixed the same non wear and tear item more than once on the cars you've owned, especially in the last decade??..it's pretty uncommon.
