Looking forward to an entry-level Volvo again!  It's too bad that they never brought the current V40 here when it debuted.  As much as the C30 was cool looking, it had pretty limited appeal.

You are dreaming of a 2017 V40 AWD Hybrid with Polestar flash I assume?
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

A Volvo cheap enough to let me consider a European Delivery?

Nice!!!  ;D

Seriously though, when I told my wife about Volvo's program she was happy. Then I told her that a S60 was slightly (ok, a lot) out of our price range. She was then pissed off that I told her about the program at all!

You are correct. Thanks for the heads up!

Volvo EDP is really good too. I looked into it. Swedish govt gives good incentives.

Would have done it probably but it would have meant going to Sweden with a ~1.5 month old baby...that would have been a hard ask.

Good news, but I'm waiting to hear on pricing.  Volvos are pretty up there, it seems.

Also, that plastic radar plate on the grille needs to be better integrated...it's just...an eyesore.

Weird, I actually like it. Its a technical touch. Much better than MB making the logo itself a plastic cover and slapping it in the middle.

Cars are technical objects as well as artistic and I like it when the technical side is shown a little more. So things like the little round circle for parking sensors, or cameras visible, aerodynamic bodywork, exhausts...I like that its shown. You see a part, and its like saying "oh neat, its got a thing!"

I think mechanical things are cool (like nice exhaust systems) but little bits of plastic are never gonna be sexy IMO. The FCW sensor on the GTI looks gross:

:hurl:

Oh man, I didn't see a straight-on pic until now.  That's brutal.  I've often just been critical of MB, Volvo, and Hyundai's slap-on approach.

FWIW, FCA seems to be doing the best integration job.

I've never noticed that before either. The sensor should've been offset IMO. I have an issue with centre mount exhausts for example, no matter how well integrated they are ie. Ford Focus ST (RS has dual offset)

We'll be getting the next gen V40, so with any luck they'll do a better integration job.

IIRC, Lexus' is right behind the "L" emblem in the grille.
