I know it isn't loved around here but I prefer the front end styling of the old model. It's more rounded and thus looks more sporty.

I feel the opposite about the new X5 though, it looks much better than the previous one IMO. First gen is still the most attractive in my eyes but then again it was a lot smaller.

I know a few 'richies' that own X6Ms. They enjoy the drive, but get absolutely no love from anyone, honestly. Everyone at the golf tournaments flock to the Teslas and Porsches, while the $100k+ BMWs get laughed at for ridiculous styling.

Good for BMW, but not on my radar.

Don't know how long they'll do on public roads but some on lease will find tire replacement time comes often $$$...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder here. There are just to many good cars available within MSRP of $108,200 compared to the X6M that will make this a hard sell.

This is yet another BMW styling nightmare.  Not in my driveway, thank you very much.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Yep don't understand why people buy these CUV's styled this way.  I know they sell and now BMW offers the X4, not to mention Merc is joining this fad.  I'm sure it's a great car to drive and all but just can't get over the shape of these vehicles and would much prefer their more traditional alternatives like X3 and X5.

My thinking is because there are too many X3s and X5s around.  People want to be unique.. in their own ways.  ::) ::) ::)
I would get the M6 Gran Coupe for that kind of money.

Why not save some cash and just get an M5? Sounds like you want to be unique too.  ;D

I would get the M6 Gran Coupe Cayman GT4 and a Forester for that kind of money.

Fixed.

We've beaten the X6 to death.   I completely understand BMW creating M versions of these SUVs, but I can't understand someone choosing the X6 over the X5.   Bizarre.

Exclusivity. When you spend that much money on a vehicle, you don't want to get something that everyone else has.

Kind of like how you could buy an ordinary 4-door 3er, or you could pay a lot more, and get a 4-door, 4er Gran Coupé.

I don't like how the M brand has become watered down like the AMG brand, and a "fast SUV" doesn't make much sense, but if I was given one, I wouldn't refuse.

Imagine how much better they could have made the M5/M6 had they redirected the development costs away from the X4/X6. That said, I guess there's more buyers of these than those catastrophes 3GT/5GT.

The development costs of these vehicles are marginal since they're based on existing products. And they likely have a better ROI than pumping money into the already good M5/M6.

As much as hate this car, I do note that it is receiving very positive reviews everywhere I look...at least in terms of driving experience.

For about the same money I'd be driving an E63S wagon.
