Nice article, Jeff!

I, of course, will have to make my comments, because...forum.

There’s no shame in black steel wheels – it shows the world you’re a sensible motorist, keeping the fancy aluminum rims with the summer rubber, while the salt and sand can beat the heck out of these cheap black steelies.
:iagree: .  Mother dearest was so against steelies on the RX400h for the winter wheels and wanted to get hub caps.  I told her that the car looks much better this way, with street cred, or something.  She now drives with one hand at 12-o'clock and her seat reclined wayyyyy back.  (I'm joking, in case anyone wants to argue that this constitutes misogyny...)

SCOSCHE USBC242M 12 Watt USB Car Charger for iPhone/iPad/iPod Lightning/Micro
Dude, I plugged my USB charger into the 12v socket yesterday and the charger no longer worked for my phone (though does work for my bluetooth speakerphone).  A quick search showed that the one I had provided 1 amp, which was insufficient.  It worked for a while, but fair enough...so I spent about an hour trying to find a good, cheap one.  Because I didn't want to wait forever to receive it from Asia, I ordered one from Amazon, but didn't find the example you showed.  Instead, I bought this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Charger-PowerIQ-Technology-Samsung-Motorola/dp/B00D82O68Y
$9.99, and with a free 30 day trial of Amazon Prime (already cancelled ;D), free 2-day shipping.

Still, I bought this literally 9 hours ago... kinda funny, in my mind at least.

I've been eyeing these for a while, but decided to wait until Feb when I head down to Cabazon for some shopping.

Snowman, if you are looking for a day to shop (doubt it, but if you are...):
http://www.cabazonoutlets.com/
and
http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=6
(same location, side-by-side)
This place is huuuuuggggeeeeee.

I got a Zegna suit for $270, down from $1,800.  Actually, all but one of my suits are from there.

I actually just bought those antlers for the Forester to make Lady Noto smile.  They shall never be affixed to the car, but they were purchased for $2.50 from Dollarama to make her smile...she's a vet, so it makes some sense, and they won't be harming her fuel economy or window trimmings.

It wouldn't be so bad, if they didn't look so dorky.

While the good mats, gear wrenches and code reader get a huge thumbs up....the driving moccasins...come on, really?!?!? They should be in the fake stickers/animated hitch covers category. While the survival kit is a great idea, a budget idea, just get a good, notice I said good, set of jumper cables and a good shovel.
Lighten up Francis.....

Since we've gotten a bit of rain, I've already taken them down - the windows can't fully close with the antlers in place and I'd rather not have rain inside the car.

By the way, since I've gotten here, Lady Noto hasn't driven at all.  I always reset the avg fuel economy when I leave to see how she's been driving the Fozzie:
16.4L/100km :o

After 160km this week, all city, I'm sitting at 12.2L/100km.  Far better than she's capable of!

That's winter, hilly, with winter tires, sh!t US-quality gas (93 octane, but E10 :(), and short trips (almost always < 3km each way)

MB/BMW clothing and "golf" umbrellas at Woodbridge Costco today. Don't work with my car but otherwise would make great gifts.

Those short 3 km trips are murder.  Engine probably doesn't get to operating temp, and neither will the catalytic converter, hence the ECU will run a richer mixture, resulting in more fuel consumed.  At the same token, I doubt she is light on the pedal.
