And that's what happens when you build a great car at the right price.

I wonder if they are losing $ on this car at that price? They can't be making much.

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

I'm not a downer...unless speaking the truth makes me a downer.  It was the same for the C5.  Then the C6. And I make the bold prediction it will be the same for the C8.  Really going out on a wire, eh?   ::)

Americans love their Vettes.  When a new one comes out, everyone wants one.

I have read in the past that the corvette was never a real money maker, it's more of a brand image car.  Haven't seen one yet, but looks good on paper.

I'm sure they make some money on the base car.  Not a lot but car companies aren't in the business of losing money on purpose.  Where they make the big money is on option packages.  I can't do the build your own on a 2014 yet but I managed to run a 2013 up from $60K to $142K.

Lot of profit there.

I'm a long time member on the Vette forums (both usa and canada) The C7 has created more buzz than any other generation I've seen.

Most Vette owners will not be buying a C7. They are a bunch of whiny old men who just can't and won't get over the damm tailights. If they could the Vette would still be as it was in 1965 and have a 427 4bbl.

GM is attracting a whole new kind of buyer here. Good to see younger more import loving sports car guys interested in Vettes, maybe it will help shed it's current owner image.

^^I remember the C5  being a really big deal.  From what I recall, the C5 was a bigger deal than the C7...especially in Detroit.

I also think most Vette owners don't hang around forums.  And most Vette owners never realize the limit of their cars performance.  Certainly not a uniquely Vette phenomenon though.

Yea, I think the new Vette might shift the age demographic down a bit.
