This is a straight-up MNFR press release (i.e., free advertising) - no editor comments or remarks included.  What gives?  Did Toyota scold you guys after this was done in the past?  Threaten to take away the press vehicles?  No time to comment on the release, so just cut-and-pasted?

You could NOT pay me to buy one of these when there's so many better options out there.
Not to mention this thing could barley manage under 7l p 100 kms highway.
Weird wind howl at the back, creaks and rattles, took about 60 seconds for the gerbils to wind the elastic band up under the hood
A pathetic car in general but did find the single wiper cool ..

Toyota is very good at making cars with no soul as of late, the only exception being the Scion FRS.

Not for me either but Toyota knows the market well and build cars people want.

It's a pricing release with no major updates to the model. We've done the same with the new Corolla but we'll have more info in a preview later.

Seems like a great option for folks with a 15k budget and wanting a new car. Considering all the yapping on the affordable financing thread I figure this car represents nice responsible decision making.

Im sure that there will be a crapload of these as soon as university starts again. Seems to be the preffered transports of uni girls with well off families. I dont want one, but Im sure theyll sell lots, fuel economy, ease of driving and reliability....who in their right mind wants that?!?!?!  ;)
Lighten up Francis.....

I have not test driven a newer Yaris. However, our 2007 Yaris hatch has been a good car for us. If it had cruise I would be willing to take it on some longer drives. For the most part it is a city dweller and does commute duty for my wife. For a hatch it fits our needs well. Not particularly sporty but it has been incredibly reliable and a good second car for us. If we decide to buy another hatch to replace it the Yaris would be a consideration to replace the... er... Yaris.
