Help with Cosmis MR7
« on: April 02, 2019, 02:58:54 am »
So im looking to throw a set of MR7's on my 2017 wrx and i had a few questions.

The cosmis wheels are 18x9 with a 25mm offset. Firstly would i need wheel spacers due to the stock offset being 55mm? And what tire size would be optimal for fitment?

My suspension is stock, i just wanna make sure i have my information right before I purchase them.

Thanks for any help!

Tire Rack says the minimum offset is 35 mm.  They also say the stock size is 245/40R18 XL.

Tire Rack says the minimum offset is 35 mm.  They also say the stock size is 245/40R18 XL.
To the OP:  You've got it backwards.  A 25 mm offset means that your tires will push out *more* than stock.  Spacers are not the answer but a rethink on what rims you want to fit in there is.  Wheel-size.com -> http://www.wheel-size.com says that your stock offset is +55 with a 18 x 8.5" wheel.  Factoring in the 12.5 mm difference because of your wider rims, those new wheels will poke out more by (55-25) + (12.5/2) = 30 + 6.25 = 36.25 mm or roughly 1.5" compared to stock.  Probably too much without rubbing the fender lips.  As capriracer points out, a +35 offset is closer to what you want (55-35) + (12.5/2) = 20 + 6.25 = 26.25 mm or roughly 1.0" compared to stock.  An even better equivalent fitment would be +45 offset, again assuming 8.5" width. The same math works out to a poke of 16.25 mm or roughly .75" compared to stock.
